The Rydberg atom platform has proven to be a key contributor in modern physics, providing insights into how collective behavior arise from the interactions among the building blocks of a quantum system. In view of the expanding scope of research in Rydberg physics, the Functionalities Of Rydberg Matter (FORM2025) workshop aims to exclusively bring together young researchers and students to share their recent findings in relevant research topics (see below).
The two-day workshop is intended to encourage collaborations and communication between the next generation of experimentalists and theorists working on ultracold Rydberg systems and synthetic quantum matter in German research institutions. We hope to contribute to the continued existence of a friendly, well-connected network of young academics for the future development of quantum sciences in the country.
We do not charge a registration fee, and the deadline for accepting the invitation is 15th of March. The institute will provide for the accommodation of the invited speakers, whereas the meal can be purchased by the participants from nearby cafeterias and restaurants.
Limited funding is available for reimbursing travel cost. Please contact us early, by the 1st of March to avail travel reimbursement, if your employing institution cannot cover the costs.
Please do not respond to any third party (email-) inquiries regarding the conference, the contact information of the organizers are provided below.
Key topics to be covered:
• Rydberg atoms in optical tweezer arrays
• Rydberg atom-based quantum computers and simulators
• Rydberg excitations in ultracold gases and Rydberg polaron physics
• Ultralong-range Rydberg molecules, Rydberg atom-ion molecules
• Quantum optics with Rydberg atoms
• Atomic structure calculations
• Atom-atom interaction potentials
• Ultracold high-resolution microscopy
Invited speakers: To be announced later
