The University of Nottingam is pleased to announce 10 Visiting Fellowships for early career university lecturers and post-doctoral researchers currently working at recognised universities in Brazil.

A web site with all of the potential research projects is now up and running at
http://www.nottingham.ac.uk/internationaloffice/brazil
Specifically, a call for up to two fellows in Quantum Information Theory is available under "Mathematical Sciences".

This taught MSc course offers a comprehensive overview of the emerging applications of quantum physics to information processing and quantum coherent devices. The course syllabus includes important topics such as:

- Quantum Information Science. This teaches how quantum phenomena may be used to process information in novel ways that outperform existing information processing technologies.

- Experimental Quantum and Atom Optics. This topic covers the key techniques used to generate and manipulate quantum coherence in real experimental systems.

NEC Laboratories America has an opening for a Research Staff Member in the Quantum IT group in Princeton, NJ. We invite applications from world-class candidates with an exceptional track record in quantum algorithms and/or quantum circuits and who are recognized as thought-leaders by the international research community. The position addresses practical challenges that arise in the design of efficient quantum circuits but also offers a considerable amount of freedom for finding novel quantum algorithms and for interacting with experimental physicists.

Scientific IT Specialist

Scope of Position:

The Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics (PI) seeks a creative individual with experience in both scientific research and information technology (IT) to fill a new hybrid research / IT position within the Institute. The successful applicant will bring his / her own vision to the position and help define it. A key aspect of the position is to assist PI’s scientific staff in making effective use of IT resources. We expect this position’s activities to evolve over time as needs and opportunities arise.

The University of Warsaw, Faculty of Physics, seeks to fill nine research positions supported by the project Photonic implementations of quantum-enhanced technologies starting on 1 January 2010. The project, funded under the TEAM programme operated by the Foundation for Polish Science, will focus on controlling quantum phenomena in photonic systems to enable new modes of information processing and communication.
