In the context of the NEASQC project, a 18 months postdoc position is available at Loria in quantum computing.
The NEASQC project aims at developing practical use cases for the NISQ (Noise Intermediate-Scale Quantum) devices that will be available in the near future.
The Mocqua team at Loria and Inria Nancy Grand Est is involved in this project though quantum optimization algorithms (typically QAOA) for smart
charging, involving diagrammatical methods to optimize circuits.
Postdoc position funded by the European Union through QuantERA program STAQS:
``Shortcuts to Adiabaticity for Quantum Computation and Simulation''.
PIs of the project: Jacek Dziarmaga and Marek M. Rams
Where: Institute of Theoretical Physics, Jagiellonian University in Kraków, Poland
How long: 24 months
Position is open from Oct. 31, 2022 with a possibility to delay the starting date for up to a few months.
Salary: 10000 PLN/month (pre-tax) or 6000PLN/month (after tax) plus social and health insurance.

Lawrence Berkeley National Lab’s (LBNL, https://www.lbl.gov/) Applied Mathematics and Computational Research Division and the National Energy Research Scientific Computing Center (NERSC, https://crd.lbl.gov/divisions/amcr/applied-mathematics-dept/) have a joint opening for a Quantum/Hybrid Algorithm Postdoctoral Scholar to join the team.
In this exciting role, you will participate in an interdisciplinary quantum computing project. The project involves quantum and hybrid quantum-classical algorithms on NISQ-era superconducting quantum computers. As a quantum algorithms researcher, you will work closely with researchers at NERSC and quantum computing experimentalists at the Advanced Quantum Testbed on co-design of algorithms and experimental systems.

We are starting a research program into ultrafast quantum sensing and metrology. We are in particular looking for candidates with a background in quantum and nonlinear optics/quantum sensing/quantum metrology. The project aims to develop ultrafast probe states for doing sensing in regions of the electromagnetic spectrum beyond the visible/near-visible band. Besides theory, the candidate will develop software for optimization of ultrafast parametric sources with colleagues in Montréal and will interact with experimentalists both locally and abroad.

Open Positions for Postdocs and PhDs
(Photonic quantum computing in Taiwan)
Photonic linear optical networks are a promising platform for quantum information processing. The challenge in universal photonic quantum computing is its scalability. To scale up photonic quantum computing, one will need to achieve the stability of photonic sources, the tunability of linear optical interferometers, and the efficiency of photon number resolving detectors. All these requirements can be met in integrated photonics.
