As part of the QuantERA consortium "Quantum sensing with nonclassical mechanical oscillators" (ETH, Aalto, ICFO, USN, U. of Malta), the University of South-Eastern Norway (USN) is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to work on the theory of quantum properties of mechanical systems and quantum sensing.

Any previous background in quantum optomechanics, circuit QED, quantum optics or quantum sensing is considered as an advantage, but strong candidates from other fields of physics are encouraged to apply as well.

What

We offer several postdoctoral research positions in quantum information theory. Potential research topics include the following:

The Quantum Information Science Group at Seoul National University (SNU) is accepting applications for one postdoctoral researcher position in the field of quantum computation. The actual start date of the position is negotiable.

The postdoctoral researcher shall be under the joint supervision of both Research Associate Professor Yong Siah Teo and Professor Hyunseok Jeong. Initially, he/she is particularly expected to work closely and productively with Yong Siah to solve problems concerning (but not limited to)

Two postdoctoral research positions are open at the Centre for Quantum Technologies and MajuLab, Singapore and at the LPMMC, Grenoble, France. The research focus is on theoretical studies of the physical resource cost of quantum computing, with considerations spanning from fundamental thermodynamic requirements to practical experimental demands, and from small-scale NISQ devices to full-stack large-scale quantum computers.

Application deadline:

Thursday, June 9, 2022

Work type: Full time
Location: Sydney, NSW, Australia
Categories: Post doctoral research fellow

Quantum communication is a translational technology that will make an impact on society long before quantum computation will. First commercial offerings of secure quantum communication solutions based on heavily attenuated laser pulses are already on the market. In this project, we plan to design a compact quantum communication system that could be deployed onboard a low-Earth-orbit satellite. The security of all communicated data will be at the forefront of the new design. The project will be largely theoretical in nature.
