Oxford Postdoc in Quantum Theory for Early Quantum Computers
Submitted by

Application deadline:
Friday, November 29, 2019
The Oxford-based group of Professor Simon Benjamin (see QTechTheory.org) is looking for an exceptionally talented and motivated theorist to join the team. The successful applicant will perform research in one or more of the following topics: quantum algorithms, compilers, architectures, and error tolerance protocols. Close interaction is anticipated with experimental groups across the UK, and internationally.
A completed doctorate in a relevant field is a requirement (candidates who have submitted a thesis and are awaiting their viva may apply). The successful applicant will have demonstrated a very high level of ability for theoretical research in quantum computing or a closely related area.
Prior work with any specific type of quantum device is not required, and much of the research will apply to multiple hardware platforms. The research will involve both analytical ‘pen and paper’ studies as well as numerical simulations using conventional computing systems; it is also expected that use of prototype quantum computers will be involved (remotely, through e.g. an online interface, rather than in the lab).
More info at the link -- any questions don't hesitate to email Simon Benjamin. Group site is http://qtechtheory.org/
