The University of Padua is seeking a talented and experienced
Research Technologist to join our new laboratory for experimental
quantum computing and simulation with trapped ions. This exciting role
offers the opportunity to develop a new research line in a thrilling and
active academic environment, and to be at the forefront of quantum
computing research.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the design and setup of the Quantum Computing laboratory
equipment
- Interface and support students and technical staff
- Assist in software development for the quantum computing
machine
Required Skills and Experience
- Experience in design and maintenance of lasers systems, control
electronics, ultra-high vacuum systems
- Solid knowledge in atomic physics
- PhD in physics or professional experience in related areas
- Good programming skills
- English language proficiency (B2 level)

L’Università di Padova è alla ricerca di un Tecnologo di Ricerca di
talento ed esperienza da inserire nel nuovo laboratorio sperimentale di
calcolo e simulazione quantistica con ioni intrappolati. Questo ruolo
offre l’opportunità di sviluppare una nuova linea di ricerca in un
ambiente accademico vivo e dinamico, e di essere all’avanguardia nella
ricerca sul calcolo quantistico.
Responsabilità principali:
- Supportare la progettazione e l’allestimento delle attrezzature del
laboratorio di calcolo quantistico.
- Interfaccia e supporto agli studenti e al personale tecnico
- Assistere nello sviluppo del software per il computer
quantistico.
Competenze ed esperienze richieste:
- Esperienza nella progettazione e manutenzione di sistemi laser,
elettronica di controllo e sistemi ad ultra-alto vuoto.
- Ottime conoscenze in fisica atomica
- Dottorato in fisica o esperienza professionale in ambito
attinente
- Buone capacità di programmazione
- Conoscenza della lingua inglese (livello B2)
