This workshop marks the halfway milestone of the FoQaCiA project, a
groundbreaking collaboration between leading researchers from Europe and
Canada. Funded through a flagship partnership between Horizon Europe and
NSERC, FoQaCiA aims to chart the boundaries between the computational
power of quantum devices and classical computers, identifying the “line
in the sand” that defines tasks with quantum speedups versus those that
remain classically simulable.
The workshop will explore the four central, interrelated themes of
the project:
- Quantum Contextuality, Non-classicality, and Quantum Advantage
- The Complexity of Classical Simulation of Quantum Computation
- The Arithmetic of Quantum Circuits
- The Efficiency of Fault-Tolerant Quantum Computation
At FoQaCiA, we believe the future success of quantum computing hinges
on foundational insights. Investments in large-scale quantum
technologies will only achieve their full potential when guided by a
deeper understanding of the fundamental principles underpinning quantum
systems.
Join us as we bridge continents and disciplines to push the
boundaries of quantum computing!
