Postdoctoral Position in Quantum Computing and Foundational Physics
at Tohoku University Apply through the NEXUS Postdoctoral Fellowship
Program
We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join our
Quantum Lab at Tohoku University under the prestigious NEXUS
Postdoctoral Research Fellow Program. This competitive fellowship aims
to nurture the next generation of global research leaders and provides
exceptional support for both independent and collaborative research.
The successful candidate will join an interdisciplinary project at the
interface of quantum computing, foundational quantum physics, quantum
metrology and sensing, and high-energy physics. We welcome applicants
with a passion for bridging theoretical physics and quantum information
science.
Research Focus
-
Quantum Algorithms: Designing novel quantum algorithms
for near-term and fault-tolerant quantum computers, targeting
applications in physics and beyond.
-
Foundational Physics: Investigating the structure of
quantum mechanics, including nonlocality and quantum-classical
boundaries.
-
Quantum Metrology and Sensing: Developing
quantum-enhanced measurement techniques using entanglement and squeezing
to surpass classical precision limits.
-
High-Energy Physics: Focusing on variational quantum
algorithms to explore the strong CP problem. This includes studying
gauge theory and topological terms in quantum field theories through
quantum-inspired numerical approaches.
This position requires application through the NEXUS Fellowship
Program, which supports international collaboration and
long-term career development.
