Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) is a scientific, extreme scale Data Laboratory in the US, New York State, Long Island. We support the data and computational needs of on-site facilities such as the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC), the National Synchrotron Light Source II (NSLS II), the Center for Functional Nano Materials and the Atmospheric Radiation Measurement program. In addition, we host the largest data center for the ATLAS experiment at CERN, and provide online and offline data services for the Japanese Belle II experiment.

Fully founded 3-year theory PhD and Postdoc positions available soon in the group of Prof. Jarek Korbicz within OPUS project "Novel approach to decoherence and information transfer studies in open quantum systems" founded by the National Science Center of Poland.

Application deadline:

Friday, July 10, 2020

A three-year PhD studentship (comprising stipend and fees) is available to international students to work with Alessandro Ferraro and Mauro Paternostro at the Quantum Technology group, School of Mathematics and Physics, Queen's University Belfast.

The project will focus on the use of machine learning techniques for quantum information processing, with particular emphasis on quantum state and process engineering in photonics quantum networks.

There is an opening for a postdoctoral fellow to work at the QuSys Group at Trinity College Dublin starting around October 2020 with some flexibility in the precise date. The QuSys group is a young, dynamic and international group lead by Prof. John Goold. The groups interests are diverse ranging from thermodynamics of quantum systems and quantum transport in non equilibrium steady states (NESS) to quantum information and many-body physics. The position is initially for 2 years and can be extended further.

Application deadline:

Tuesday, June 30, 2020

For our new project on single time-bin entangled photon pairs from semiconductor quantum dots in collaboration with the universities of Münster (Germany)  and Linz (Austria) we are looking for a post-doc with experience in quantum optics, ideally with semiconductors and sources of nonclassical light. This experience should be documented by a strong publication record.
