Welcome to Quantiki
Welcome to Quantiki, the world's leading portal for everyone involved in quantum information science. No matter if you are a researcher, a student or an enthusiast of quantum theory, this is the place you are going to find useful and enjoyable! While here on Quantiki you can: browse our content, including fascinating and educative articles, then create your own account and log in to gain more editorial possibilities.
Add new content, such as information about upcoming quantum events, open positions for quantum scientists and existing quantum research groups. We are also distributing news via X (Twitter) feed, Bluesky news feed, and LinkedIn profile. We encourage you to follow us on social media to get the recent news from quantum infromation community.
Quantum communication via low-orbit satellites offers up a paradigm shift in telecommunications. Providing for unparalleled communication security, this emerging technology will also lead us into the development of the global quantum internet. In this project you will leverage optical quantum communications, quantum error correction, and channel modelling, to deliver novel and optimized quantum communication protocols specifically designed for the satellite-to-ground and inter-satellite channels.

A PhD position is available to work in the Quantum Correlations Group of the Department of Applied Physics at the University of Geneva under the joint supervision of Dr. Martí Perarnau-Llobet and Prof. Nicolas Brunner. The project is of theoretical nature and aims at optimising several thermodynamic tasks at the nanoscale, such as cooling, heat-to-work conversion, and quantum thermometry. The starting date is flexible (around September 2020), and the position is fully funded for 4 years.

We seek up to two highly motivated, skilled and independent researchers to join our research group at CQT and NUS ECE.
The research/postdoctoral fellows are expected to focus on, but not limited to, (1) the development of security proof techniques for realistic quantum cryptography schemes and (2) the development of verification toolboxes for quantum coherence and quantum correlations (nonlocality, entanglement, etc.) in quantum networks. We highly encourage candidates who are interested in both discrete and continuous variables systems to apply.
The York Centre for Quantum Technologies (YCQT) is an interdisciplinary centre that includes activities in the departments of Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Mathematics and Physics. YCQT also hosts the leadership of the UK Quantum Communications Hub, with Professor Tim Spiller as the Director of both the Centre and the national Hub. The Quantum Communications Hub has been awarded further EPSRC funding for a five-year Phase 2 through to 2024. This new Hub collaboration will again be led by York.
