Quantum Engineering Science and Technology (QUEST) group at University of Massachusetts, Lowell and the National Institute of Standards & Technology are looking for a motivated postdoctoral researcher to start as soon as possible. Superconducting circuits represent a very promising platform for actualizing quantum information processors. This postdoctoral research opportunity will involve design, fabrication and characterization of superconducting qubit systems.

QUantum Engineering Science and technology (QUEST) group at UMass Lowell invites applications for postdoctoral scholar position in theory and phenomenology of quantum information processing. The initial term of appointment is two years, contingent on satisfactory research progress. Selected candidate is expected to join in spring–early summer 2019, though some flexibility in start date maybe accommodated.

The combination of quantum physics with information theory has posed new challenges for physicists and mathematicians. To further develop the field, researchers need to learn methods and understand open challenges in an interdisciplinary manner. On the mathematical side, results in algorithmic algebra, convex optimization, and multilinear algebra provide novel tools for tackling physical problems. In physics, open questions in entanglement theory, information processing and many-body systems are waiting for the mathematical advances to solve them.

Palacky University in Olomouc, Czech Republic, announces one post-doc and one Ph.D.-student positions in theory of quantum information processing with photonic continuous variables, funded within EU Quantum Flagship and a national research project. The research will be applied to quantum communications and experimental-theoretical collaboration with the leading experimental groups in the field is foreseen. The positions are in the Quantum Communications sub-group, led by Dr. Vladyslav Usenko, within the Quantum Optics Theory group of prof. Radim Filip.

The Institute for Theoretical Physics at the University of Ulm, with Professors Martin B Plenio and Susana F Huelga, invites applications for PhD and postdoctoral positions in theoretical quantum physics

The focus of our research is on

Looking for excellent PhD students to join and build a group at @VectorInst on topics at the intersection between machine learning and quantum many-body physics and quantum technology. If you are interested get in touch with me and/or apply to @UWaterloo Physics and Astronomy. A good knowledge of quantum mechanics, statistical physics, and machine learning would be great, but ultimately the important thing is that you are genuinely excited about quantum many-body physics
