A number of Chancellor’s Fellowships are available at the University of Strathclyde, in Glasgow, UK. These are 5-year positions, at the level of Lecturer or Senior Lecturer, which come with the perspective of an open-ended academic appointment (“tenure”). The positions are directed to “bold, ambitious and innovative future research leaders”.

The Quantum Information Group (GIQ) of the Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona, UAB, offers a 3-year PhD position within the project RaRQIP (Resources and Restrictions in Quantum Information Processing) funded by the ‘Programa Estatal de Fomento de la Investigación Científica y Técnica de Excelencia’.

The Institute for Logic, Language & Computation (ILLC) at the University of Amsterdam, and the Centrum Wiskunde & Informatica (CWI) are looking for a PhD candidate in the area of quantum cryptography.
The Quantum Computing Lab at Virginia Commonwealth University currently has a Ph.D. position available. Tuition and stipend are provided.
Requirements: A background in quantum mechanics or quantum computing is preferred but not necessary; the requirements are a Master's degree in theoretical computer science or a related field (such as mathematics), elementary linear algebra (vector spaces, eigenvalues and eigenvectors), and mathematical maturity.

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position in experimental cold atom physics and quantum optics at MUARC at the University of Nottingham, Notttingham, UK. The proposed research is embedded in the European project “QuILMI: A Quantum Integrated Light and Matter Interface”, which aims at building and characterising an interface with cold atoms and photons out of integrated waveguide structures. Quilmi includes four European partners and is coordinated by the University of Nottingham.
