MSc (possibly PhD) Position in Quantum Physics – Université de Moncton Project: Characterizing Quantum States via Non-Invasive Measurements

The Quantum Phonics Group at the Université de Moncton (largest Francophone university in Canada outside of Quebec), led by Dr. Lambert Giner, is seeking a motivated graduate student (MSc) to join a research project focused on novel techniques for characterizing quantum states without disturbing them.

Essential Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Physics is an asset(or international equivalent)
  • Applicants with degrees in Mathematics or Engineering will also be considered if they have successfully completed key physics courses (Quantum Mechanics, Optics, Electromagnetism, Experimental Physics)

Language Requirements French proficiency is mandatory. Applicants must specify how they meet or intend to meet the language requirement.

Additional Desired Skills
  • Ability to communicate in English
  • Experience in free-space or integrated optics (e.g., internships or lab work)
  • Programming experience in C#, Python, or MATLAB, demonstrated through coursework or projects

Funding and Support The selected candidate will receive the standard MSc stipend from Dr. Giner’s research grants, supplemented by a teaching assistantship. Students will also be encouraged and supported in applying for external scholarships and will be eligible for internal funding opportunities.
