    We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join our Quantum Lab at Tohoku University under the prestigious NEXUS Postdoctoral Research Fellow Program. This competitive fellowship aims to nurture the next generation of global research leaders and provides exceptional support for both independent and collaborative research.
    The successful candidate will join an interdisciplinary project at the interface of quantum computing, foundational quantum physics, quantum metrology and sensing, and high-energy physics. We welcome applicants with a passion for bridging theoretical physics and quantum information science.
Research Focus
  • Quantum Algorithms: Designing novel quantum algorithms for near-term and fault-tolerant quantum computers, targeting applications in physics and beyond.
  • Foundational Physics: Investigating the structure of quantum mechanics, including nonlocality and quantum-classical boundaries.
  • Quantum Metrology and Sensing: Developing quantum-enhanced measurement techniques using entanglement and squeezing to surpass classical precision limits.
  • High-Energy Physics: Focusing on variational quantum algorithms to explore the strong CP problem. This includes studying gauge theory and topological terms in quantum field theories through quantum-inspired numerical approaches.
    This position requires application through the NEXUS Fellowship Program, which supports international collaboration and long-term career development.
Your Profile
  • Ph.D. in Physics, Quantum Information, Computer Science, or a related field (or expected by the start date).
  • Research experience in at least one of the areas listed above.
  • Strong publication record (for experienced postdocs) or outstanding academic performance (for recent graduates).
  • Familiarity with quantum programming, simulation tools, or mathematical modeling is desirable.
  • Collaborative mindset and interest in contributing to an international research environment.
