Competition for one R2-level researcher at the Center for Theoretical Physics, PAS
The Director of the Center for Theoretical Physics of the Polish Academy of Sciences (CTP PAS) invites applications for one R2-level researcher (“PhD holder or researcher with an equivalent level of experience and competence”) at CTP PAS, within the ERA Chair project EUCENTRAL (project no 101186579; https://eucentral.cft.edu.pl/) financed by the European Union. The project is led by Prof. Marzena Szymańska, ERA Chair Holder.

Responsibilities: ● development of positive P and truncated Wigner methods for spin lattices; ● adjusting codes for broader use; ● preparing tutorials for software to solve many-body quantum problems; ● ERA Chair grant-related numerical methods dissemination activities.

Required qualifications and skills: experience in creating and implementing scientific software; experience with stochastic phase-space methods in particular positive P and truncated Wigner methods in application to bosonic and spin lattice models; experience implementing methods for open quantum systems.

The position is offered for a period of 6 months. The earliest starting date is 4 August 2025. The salary is ~11k PLN gross.

A copy of the PhD diploma, or a statement from the PhD Advisor on the planned date of the thesis defense or a statement on the Candidate’s qualifications; 5.
