We in the »Self-Learning Systems« group works in a range of advanced machine learning topics. We employ deep learning in combination with reinforcement-learning techniques and methods for reliable and interpretable artificial intelligence (AI). We also use and investigate continual and distributed learning as well as deep compression.
The Sydney Quantum Academy (SQA) is a unique collaboration between four leading Australian universities (the University of Sydney, UNSW Sydney, University of Technology Sydney and Macquarie University) with expertise in quantum science and technology. Proudly funded by the NSW Government, SQA aims to support and promote Sydney’s quantum ecosystem by:
Quantum science and technology seeks to develop new types of applications based on the properties and dynamics of the quantum world. We already know that using quantum science there is the potential to build enormously faster computers – quantum computers, but there are many other potential applications ranging from ultra-precise quantum assisted sensors through to new types of simulators of complex quantum phenomena. Our understanding of the quantum realm and engineering it to our design is just beginning.
The international center “Quantum Artificial Intelligence for Science and Technology (QuArtist)”, led by distinguished Prof. Enrique Solano, develops cutting-edge interdisciplinary research in fundamentals and applications of quantum technologies. Among them, we can mention quantum computing, quantum simulation, quantum communication, quantum sensing, and quantum artificial intelligence.
The research group lead by Robert Wille focuses on design automation
for quantum computing.
