Theory

We work on the theory of open quantum systems, with an emphasis on developing new methods applicable beyond standard approximations. Applications range from solid-state quantum devices to biomolecular systems.

Group members:

Ahsan Nazir - EPSRC Early Career Fellow
Zach Blunden-Codd - PhD Student
Dave Newman - PhD Student
Henry Maguire - PhD Student

We do multi-disciplinary research in theoretical physics and applied mathematics. Kindly refer to KG Zloshchastiev's webpage (http://bit.do/kgz) for more details, contacts and location.

Laboratory of Quantum Information Theory was created in Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology in 2014 to reinforce theoretical research in quantum technologies.

Our group conducts research in the following fields:

- quantum measurements

- entanglement and other types of quantum correlations

- open systems dynamics and quantum channels

- quantum information transfer, storage, and processing

- physics of quantum systems: spin, charged, optical, and hybrid

- foundations of quantum mechanics

QTI is a quantum computing research group based at the newly established Singapore University of Technology and Design. Research within the group is varied but common themes include the development of cryptographic methods for verifying quantum processors and the development of new quantum cryptographic techniques. The group is lead by Joe Fitzsimons, and at present includes 6 postdoctoral fellows, 4 PhD students and a number of undergraduate research students.

The Quantum Information Group (GIQ) research interests range from theoretical aspects of quantum information (quantum state estimation/discrimination, characterization of entanglement, Bell inequalities and foundations of quantum mechanics) to implementations of quantum information protocols (e.g., continuous variables, angular momentum of photons, cold gases) and quantum information in condensed matter systems.
