Our group is carrying out research at the interface of Quantum Information Theory and Quantum Many-Body Physics, particularly Quantum Chemistry. We resort to analytic approaches complemented and guided by computational studies to gain universal insights into interacting quantum many-body systems. A particular emphasis lies on the concept of reduced density matrices and the ground state problem.

Theory of quantum enhanced algorithms and quantum information.

We're working on fundamental problems in quantum information theory to understand the information processing in the most fundamental level and to break the limits on today's technologies.

The goal of our team is to gain insight into quantum foundations and quantum information by exploiting operational and information-theoretic approaches. The team has recently applied them to the field of causality and gravity.

The laws of quantum mechanics govern not only the behavior of elementary particles, but also the collective properties of many-body systems at low temperatures. Understanding the various phases in which quantum matter can organize itself has been a long-standing goal of theoretical physics, motivated both by the quest for new materials and by fundamental questions about the emergence of exotic phenomena in strongly correlated systems.
