The University’s Department of Physics invites applications for a PhD
studentship funded by the Royal Society and the University of Exeter to
commence on 1st October 2025 or as soon as possible thereafter. For
eligible students the studentship will cover Home tuition fees plus an
annual tax-free stipend for 4 years full-time, or pro rata for part-time
study.

Quantum technologies promise to revolutionize our ability to acquire,
communicate, and process information. However, the fundamental limits of
quantum technologies—stemming from factors including external noise,
energetic costs, and the complexity of controlling many-body
dynamics—are still not fully understood. This conference will bring
together experts bridging theory, experiment, and commercial
applications, to address questions such as:
