The research group of Prof. Wenchao Ge
(https://sites.google.com/view/wenchaoge) in the Department of Physics
at the University of Rhode Island invites applications for a
Postdoctoral Research Associate position in theoretical quantum
information science and engineering (QISE). The successful candidate
will conduct theoretical research in hybrid quantum-classical algorithms
on near-term quantum devices supported by National Science Foundations
through the NSF ExpandQISE program
(https://new.nsf.gov/news/quantum-science-engineering-expands-across-nati...).
Topics of interest include but are not limited to, quantum entanglement
and spin squeezing, quantum approximate optimization algorithms, and
benchmarking protocols with different quantum platforms, such as neutral
atoms, trapped ions, and superconducting qubits. The successful
candidate will also collaborate with Prof. Ilya Safro at the University
of Delaware on designing, analyzing, and implementing quantum
algorithms.

We have an opening for a three-year postdoc position in foundations of quantum mechanics / quantum information theory at the University of Gdańsk, Poland with starting date 1st January 2018.
The position will be financed under the project “Quantum correlations – from few to many particles” founded by the Polish National Science Center under BEETHOVEN programme.
Scope of research for the project include:
Young Quantum-2017 (YouQu-2017)”, a collaborative meeting for young researchers on quantum information processing and its applications, will be organized at Harish-Chandra Research Institute, Allahabad, India during 27th February - 1st March, 2017. It will be for post-doctoral fellows and doctoral students. In this program, we wish to include discussions on recent developments in areas related to quantum information, quantum computation, and their interface with other sciences.
