QuSoft and the Algorithms and Complexity group of CWI has a vacancy for a talented postdoctoral researcher on the subject of computer-science aspects of quantum computing and quantum information theory.

Job description

Application deadline:

Monday, September 17, 2018

We are looking for new postdoc who has the sufficient background to work closely with one or more of the senior members in our group, and at the same time can bring their own character to the research. The position is initially for one year, with possible extension. The preferred starting date is 15 October 2018.

Our group has expertise in multiple related theoretical areas including quantum walks, iterated open quantum systems and quantum optics. We also have a strong cooperation with an experimental group on optical realizations of quantum walks.

Experimental Post-Doc Position in Quantum Metamaterials

Application deadline:

Friday, July 20, 2018

The Physics of Information and Quantum Technologies Group, at Instituto de Telecomunicacoes (in Lisbon, Portugal), is seeking to hire a Post-doctoral Research Fellow. The position is available to start in January 2019 (earlier also possible), and is renewable beyond the first year.

The candidates are expected to have research experience in at least one of the following areas: quantum information theory, quantum computation, open quantum systems, quantum matter, quantum gravity.

Application deadline:

Friday, August 3, 2018

The project is to carry out theoretical research on the physics of atoms coupled to optical photons in waveguides. This research is conducted within the ErBeStA-consortium which is formed by European experimental and theoretical research groups.

Application deadline:

Wednesday, August 1, 2018

The quantum group in Malta is looking to recruit an experienced postdoctoral researcher in the field of topological optomechanical devices. This is a two-year position funded by the Julian Schwinger Foundation.

This project aims to investigate optomechanical arrays as a platform for the amplification, processing, and routing of phonons. This programme is based on work pioneered recently by Dr Vittorio Peano on topological effects in such arrays, with the possibility to be involved in experimental explorations as well.

Application deadline:

Saturday, July 7, 2018

We have reopened for applications to a theory postdoctoral position at the University of Sheffield working with Dr Earl Campbell (https://earltcampbell.com/).  The applicant should have a research interest in developing new architectures for quantum computation using topological codes (e.g. surface and colour codes) and other LDPC codes (e.g. hypergraph and homological product codes).

Topics of interest include:
- Design of new LDPC and topological error correction codes.
