PhD/PostDoc Positions

Single atoms coupled to high-finesse optical cavities allow us to study light-matter interactions in the quantum regime. Full control over atoms and photons makes them ideal prototypes for quantum information science. Your thesis work will involve many aspects of quantum optics and quantum information processing: quantum networks, quantum memories, remote entanglement, quantum state transfer, quantized light fields, optical resonators, laser cooling and trapping of atoms.

Application deadline:

A significant effort is currently being deployed by CEA-LETI and its partners, aimed at providing a layout and integration scheme for CMOS-based silicon qubits in view of a large-scale integration. In this context, a 2-year postdoctoral position is currently available in quantum error correction protocols, with applications to fault-tolerant quantum computing. The successful candidate will demonstrate the capacity for high-quality research and relevant experience in quantum information theory and quantum error correction.

The University of Surrey is looking to employ a full time Post Doctoral Fellow in theoretical condensed matter physics for a fixed term two year position with a possibility for extension. The focus of the position is to research high-frequency properties of devices incorporating topological insulator (TI) materials with focus on charge and light-matter based probes. The position is part of an EC project HiTIMe. The outcomes will also be directly relevant to other nano-electronic devices utilizing TI materials, such as hybrid devices for quantum information processing, sensing and metrological applications.

The IQT group at Griffith University (Brisbane) is currently looking for a post-doc starting in 2018. The research project will be on continuous variable quantum information in waveguide. The ideal candidate should have experience in quantum optics and integrated photonics. But a strong background in one of this two area is sufficient. The position is for 2 years and the candidate will be part of the ARC Centre of Excellence for Quantum Computation and Communication Technology (http://www.cqc2t.org/).

Application deadline:

Monday, March 12, 2018

We invite applications for experimental and theoretical post-doctoral researchers in the field of quantum optics, cold atoms, Bose-Einstein condensation, matter-wave interferometry, atomic spectroscopy, atom vapor cells, and Quantum Physics in general. We offer a highly stimulating and energetic environment for experimental and theoretical atomic physicists [http://www.bgu.ac.il/atomchip/Papers/Papers.htm].
