Applications are invited for a 1-2 years long postdoctoral position to work with Dr. Hab. Andrzej Dragan on the interdisciplinary field of relativistic quantum information. The research is aiming at exploiting relativity to improve quantum information tasks and studying quantum information protocols in the presence of gravity. Candidates must be motivated, confident and creative. They must have a PhD in physics and experience with quantum theory and relativity. Knowledge of quantum information and quantum optics is also desirable.

The Physics of Information Group, at Instituto de Telecomunicacoes (in Lisbon, Portugal), is seeking to hire a Post-doctoral Fellow to develop research in quantum information theory or/and in quantum effects in biology.

The candidates are expected to have research experience in one of the above areas, or in general in: open quantum systems, quantum optics, condensed matter physics, biophysics, or information processing in biological systems.

Application timing

Applications should be submitted by 20 September 2015, but earlier applications are welcome.

We are happy to announce the opening of a two-year postdoctoral position in quantum information theory. The successful candidate will work at the interface of quantum nonlocality and the axiomatization of quantum mechanics with Profs. Miguel Navascués and Antonio Acín at the Institute for Quantum Optics and Quantum Information (IQOQI) (Vienna, Austria) and the Institute of Photonic Sciences (ICFO) (Barcelona, Spain), respectively. The succesful candidate will be based in Vienna and enjoy frequent collaborative visits to Barcelona.

The Light-Matter Interactions Unit (https://groups.oist.jp/light) in OIST, headed by Prof Síle Nic Chormaic, invites applications for a postdoctoral scholar or staff scientist position in the unit. The focus will be on one of the experimental areas within the group such as (i) WGM resonators for nonlinear optics or optomechanics, (ii) complex beam profiles, optical trapping, and fibre-based imaging, or (iii) cold atoms and nanofibres for quantum networks.

Application deadline:

There is a vacancy for a postdoctoral researcher on “Experimental Quantum Information with Trapped Strontium Rydberg Ions” at Stockholm University. We are searching for a talented and motivated postdoctoral researcher interested in experimental quantum optics and quantum information with trapped ions. The research will focus on the investigation of trapped strontium Rydberg ions, which is a novel approach for quantum information processing. It joins the high level of quantum control of trapped ions and the strong dipolar interaction between Rydberg atoms.
