The Department of Physics and Astronomy is looking to appoint a Post-doctoral Research Associate to work on the EPSRC funded project "Towards fault-tolerant quantum computing with minimal resources" under direction of Dr Earl Campbell.

The Institute for Logic, Language & Computation at the University of Amsterdam is looking for a postdoctoral researcher in the area of quantum cryptography, as part of Christian Schaffner’s NWO VIDI Project Cryptography in the Quantum Age.

Looking for fresh phd or experienced post-doctoral fellow to work in an experimental ion trap group having diverse projects. The candidates will be working on ion trap based quantum thermodynamics and quantum synchronization (2 separate position). The ion trap experiment is presently up and running (please consult the webpage for more information). Both the projects are adequately funded for next 3-4 years. The group is young and vibrant with international composition in the cosmopolitan setup of Singapore.

Applications are invited for two postdoctoral positions to work with Dr Gerardo Adesso on an ERC Starting Grant project entitled “Genuine quantumness in cooperative phenomena” funded by the European Research Council. The principal goal of the project is to analyse and challenge the quantum-classical border from a jointly fundamental and applicative viewpoint. The project is expected to deliver novel tools for the characterisation of quantumness in composite systems and to develop novel platforms for its practical utilisation in quantum technology applications.

We currently have an open position for a PostDoc that is supported by our basic funding. We look for a candidate that strengthens our activities in the field of quantum plasmonics and quantum optics at the nanoscale. Beyond this core expertise, the PostDoc shall support and complement our activities in the fields of linear and nonlinear plasmonics, near-field optics, metamaterials, and light propagation in disordered media. More details can be provided upon request.
