Post Doctoral position, Quantum Machine Learning (QML): A post doc position is available to develop novel hybrid quantum - deep learning algorithms for next-generation quantum computing. The hybrid algorithms, which combine the strengths of AI and quantum algorithms, will be used to solve problems of quantum control and of mathematical physics. Emphasis will be placed on the explainability of the designed AI (XAI) without loss of performance. Qualifications: Ph.D.

A Postdoctoral Research Associate (PDRA) position is available in the area of quantum technologies, supported by EPSRC’s Quantum Communications Hub. The Hub, led by Professor Tim Spiller at the University of York, is a major collaboration between several universities and industrial partners and funding has just been announced for five more years. The role of the Hub is to develop new quantum communications technologies as part of the UK National Quantum Technologies Programme.
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic researcher with an excellent record of publications in the research areas of quantum optics and nano-photonics. The main goal of the research is to develop nano-structured dielectric metasurfaces for tailored transformation and generation of few-photon entangled quantum states. The project work will involve both experimental investigations and theoretical modelling. The initial term is 1-year, with a potential extension subject to performance and availability of external funding.
