The MIT Center for Theoretical Physics hopes to make a postdoctoral appointment in Quantum Information / Quantum Computing to begin September 1, 2020. Current senior members of the group include Isaac Chuang, Edward Farhi, Jeffrey Goldstone and Aram Harrow in the Physics department as well as Seth Lloyd and Peter Shor in other departments. The interests of this group cover almost all areas of the field and we seek applicants coming from all areas.

Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) is seeking postdoctoral researchers to work both independently and in a team environment on numerous aspects of quantum computing and quantum information, and machine learning as applied to quantum systems. One particular goal is to produce the foundational research needed to convert noisy, intermediate-scale quantum (NISQ) computers into a reliable resource that can benefit both LANL's scientific and national-security missions.

Tenure Track Assistant Professor, Quantum Computation and Quantum Information Science, Department of Physics, College of Science, Southern Illinois University Carbondale.

Application deadline:

Sunday, December 1, 2019

Applications are invited for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Montclair State. Priority will be given to a researcher who can carry out experimental research in quantum information science/quantum computing. Other fields of experimental physics may also be considered, especially atomic, nuclear, or particle physics. The applicant should be able to carry out an externally-funded research program in experimental physics that can involve undergraduate students on the Montclair State campus.

The Centre for Quantum Optical Technologies, established under the International Research Agenda Programme operated by the Foundation for Polish Science and hosted by the Centre of New Technologies, University of Warsaw, seeks to fill up to four postdoctoral positions. The central objective of the research efforts at the Centre is to explore specifically quantum phenomena, such as superpositions and entanglement, to develop new modes of quantum information processing and transmission, metrology, sensing, and imaging.

We announce the opening of one PhD position in non-equilibrium many-body theory in the Institute of Physics at the Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz to work in the group of Jun. Prof. Dr. J. Marino (https://sites.google.com/site/jamirmarino/).

The PhD student will be an integral part of a new team of researchers covering a broad range of topics including quantum statistical physics, condensed-matter theory, and quantum many-body optics in far-from-equilibrium conditions.

Announcing the JSAIT special issue "Quantum Information Science¨

It will especially focus on Communication and Computing. It will aim to bridge theory, practice and basic science, ranging from the state-of-the-art in quantum computing, to communication, coding, cryptography, and compression, as well as the current challenges remaining. An overarching theme is how the information-theoretic and quantum-physical perspectives complement each other in building these quantum technologies.
