The position is partially funded by the PASQuanS project of the Quantum Flagship initiative, securing additional scientific visibility. The successful candidate will work as part of the research group led by Professor Jens Eisert at the FU Berlin. The position is a full E13 position initially for two years, but may be extended.

Dear All,

After receiving multiple questions about the deadline, we have decided to extend the abstract submission deadline of the 5th International Conference for Young Quantum Information Scientists (YQIS)! We have already received plenty of great submissions, but in case you (or your students / colleagues) have missed the deadline, you still have one week to apply for a talk! The new deadline is July 12 (23:59, AoE). You can find all the relevant information at https://yqis2019.ug.edu.pl

There exists a prestigious and well-funded Scientia PhD scholarship for a student to undertake research on optical neural networks with application to quantum systems at the University of New South Wales, Canberra, Australia. The project will be undertaken under the supervision of A/Prof Andrey Miroshnichenko, Prof Hussein Abbas's, and Dr Matt Woolley. The scholarship includes a stipend of \$AU41,209 per annum for four years, a travel allowance of up to \$AU10,000 per annum, and covers all tuition fees.

Application deadline:

We offer a 3-years PhD position for a motivated researcher to join our work on spin qubits in silicon carbide (SiC). Colour centres in SiC have recently be shown to uniquely combine excellent spin properties with ultrastable optical transitions for spin-photon interfacing (see, for example, our collaborative work publish in Nature Communications 10, 1954). Our goal is to develop optically-active spin qubits directly operating at telecom wavelength, providing building blocks for the future Quantum Internet.
