Palacky University in Olomouc, Czech Republic, announces a post-doc position in theory of quantum information processing with photonic continuous variables, funded within EU Quantum Flagship and a national research project. The research will be applied to quantum communications and experimental-theoretical collaboration with the leading experimental groups in the field is foreseen. Description of tasks

Study of fundamental bounds and optimal protocols in quantum metrology in presence of realistic noise models in optical and atomic systems both in single and multiparamter problems as well as investigations of connections between quantum metrology and quantum thermodynamics.

QuTiP, the Quantum Toolbox in Python, is looking for students interested in taking part to summer projects as code developers. A number of summer projects are available in the framework of Google Summer of Code 2019. QuTiP is participating as an affiliated project of the NumFOCUS foundation.
