TCG Centres for Research and Education in Science and Technology (TCG CREST) aspires to be a world-leading research institute in the area of science and technology. The objectives of TCG CREST are to conduct basic and translational research at the frontiers of both science and technology, and impart high quality education to PhD scholars. The Centre for Quantum Engineering, Research and Education (CQuERE) is one of the centres at TCG CREST dedicated to performing cutting edge research and high-quality education at the PhD level in the emerging areas of quantum science and technology, and thereby train future researchers for academia and industry. The research at CQuERE is being carried out to meet some of the objectives of the National Quantum Mission. The areas of research currently being pursued at CQuERE are quantum computation (theory), experimental quantum computing using superconducting quantum qubits, quantum sensing using NV centres in diamond, photonic integrated circuits, development of a gravimeter using cold atoms, quantum algorithms, machine learning, quantum information, quantum communication and quantum cryptography.

CQuERE seeks to appoint faculty members at the Assistant Professor and Associate Professor levels in the areas of quantum computing and quantum machine learning (theory activities), with emphasis on translational research. There will be periodic review of the performance. An excellent research record is required for all the positions, as demonstrated by publications in reputed journals and conference proceedings. Applicants with industry experience will be given due consideration. Successful candidates will be expected to perform research at the forefront of quantum information science, supervise the work of PhD scholars, teach PhD courses on quantum science and technology.

Eligibility: PhD in Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Computer Science or Engineering.

The position-specific requirements are as follows:

Assistant Professor: Three or more years of postdoctoral experience, with research focus on any of the aforementioned areas. Associate Professor: Eight or more years of experience, including five or more years of experience at an Assistant Professor level, with research focus on any of the aforementioned areas. Demonstrated experience of teaching and research supervision of PhD students and postdocs is desired.
