The Canadian Quantum Information Students' Conference (CQISC) is the annual conference in the field of Quantum Information Sciences run by and for students across Canada and around the world. The conference is open to students of various backgrounds including, but not limited to, physics, mathematics, computer science, chemistry and engineering. The conference is held over the five days following the Annual Canadian Summer School on Quantum Information. All participants are encouraged to present a 20 minutes talk or contribute a poster on their research area.

Over the past few decades, philosophers of physics and others have made important contributions to the mathematical and conceptual foundations of physical theories by critically analyzing how the mathematical structures of such theories inform central philosophical concerns, and in some cases by proving new theorems of high philosophical interest. This conference aims to bring together physicists, mathematicians, and philosophers of physics working on such technical issues. The venue is April 4, 2013 at the Center for Philosophy of Science in Pittsburgh.

For two decades the Central European Workshop on Quantum Optics (CEWQO) has provided an annual forum for the quantum optics and quantum information community to present their latest scientific results. An important feature of the meeting is the possibility for young researchers to interact with some of the leading figures in quantum optics and related fields.

We are pleased to inform you that following a very successful editions of Benasque 1998, 2000, 2003, 2005, 2007, and 2009, we are organizing another workshop of the similar type from June 12 to July 1, 2011. This is to invite you to apply using the electronic form that you can find on the website specified below. We encourage you to apply as soon as possible and not later than the end of March 2011. The number of participants at the Benasque Centre at any given time is limited to about 50.
The quest for a complete set of physical or information-theoretic principles that capture the essence of quantum information processing is attracting an increasing number of researchers. This new research trend aims at deriving quantum protocols and connections between them directly from basic principles, without assuming quantum theory and its mathematical dowry of Hilbert spaces and observable algebras.
