Barry Sanders is Professor and Director of the Institute for Quantum Science and Technology at the University of Calgary and spearheads the Quantum Alberta initiative, which brings together Alberta’s formidable academic talent and industrial prowess under one umbrella. Sanders is a global leader in quantum information, including quantum computing and quantum-secure communication, and he is a 1000-Talents Chair Professor at the University of Science and Technology of China and a JAVRA Chair Professor at the Raman Research Institute in India. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada, the American Physical Society, the Optical Society of America and the Institute of Physics (UK), and he is Editor-in-Chief of the gold-open-access German-British New Journal of Physics.
