Reason for registering
Currently, I am setting up a theoretical junior group within the Synqs collaboration at the University of Heidelberg. My research combines quantum optics and quantum many-body physics and evolves around quantum simulation of condensed-matter models and lattice gauge theories, quantum systems in and out of equilibrium, and the measurability of entanglement. Before moving to Heidelberg, I worked 4 years as a Postdoc in the group of Peter Zoller at the University of Innsbruck and the Institute for Quantum Optics and Quantum Information. Before that, I studied physics at TU Munich and EPF Lausanne, which I finished with a Diploma thesis under supervision of Ignacio Cirac at the Max-Planck Institute of Quantum Optics in Garching near Munich, followed by a PhD at ICFO - The Institute of Photonic Sciences in Castelldefels (Barcelona) under the supervision of Maciej Lewenstein.
