QuAMP is a biennial international conference on Quantum, Atomic and
Molecular Physics. QuAMP 2025 will be held at the Urban Sciences
Building at Newcastle University, located on the Newcastle Helix
regeneration site in the heart of the city. The meeting will cover
phenomena associated with ultra-cold atomic gases, quantum technologies
and quantum information, quantum and non-linear optics, and precision
measurements.
Durham University is looking for two experimental postdocs within the
Quantum Light and Matter group at Durham, split between Prof. Simon
Cornish and Dr. Alex Guttridge, working on hybrid ultracold
molecule-Rydberg atom systems in optical tweezer arrays.
Application deadline:
Friday, February 28, 2025
Dear all,
I’m looking to hire a motivated PhD student to work with me @ the
University of Manchester. Ideally, the student will be interested in
theoretical research at the intersection of quantum information, quantum
thermodynamics, and open quantum systems.
To apply, please send a CV and brief (<1 page) motivation letter
to: philip.taranto@manchester.ac.uk by 28 Feb 2025.
Dates:
Monday, May 5, 2025 to Wednesday, May 7, 2025
The Rydberg atom platform has proven to be a key contributor in modern physics, providing insights into how collective behavior arise from the interactions among the building blocks of a quantum system. In view of the expanding scope of research in Rydberg physics, the Functionalities Of Rydberg Matter (FORM2025) workshop aims to exclusively bring together young researchers and students to share their recent findings in relevant research topics (see below).
The Trapped Ion Quantum Technology Group at Stockholm University is
seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to contribute to
pioneering research in open-system quantum simulations with trapped
Rydberg ions. This position is part of the ERC Synergy project “Open 2D
Quantum Simulator (OPEN-2QS)”.
Application deadline:
Friday, February 28, 2025
The Niels Bohr Institute invites applicants for two PhD fellowships
in Theoretical Quantum Optics and Quantum Information. The projects are
part of the research center Hybrid Quantum Networks, which is financed
by the Danish National Research Foundation. Start date is (expected to
be) July 1, 2025 or as soon as possible thereafter.

This interdisciplinary project involves applying the quantum
formalism (QF) to model experimental observations of human emotional
memory performance, and the neural systems that support it, to better
understand the interaction between elements. The quantum formalism
provides a natural mechanism for modelling combinations of
difficult-to-reconcile memory effects, such as the question order effect
(where changing question order may change the respondent’s answer) and
the response replicability effect (where repeated presentations of a
question produce the same response across contexts). Conversely, the
paradoxical temporal effects often observed in human memory performance
mean it may provide a useful theatre for observing analogies of quantum
phenomena we cannot access directly.
The Niels Bohr Institute invites applicants for a PhD fellowship in
Theoretical Quantum Optics and Quantum Information. The project will be
part of the theoretical quantum optics group and the Center for Hybrid
quantum Networks (Hy-Q).
Start date is (expected to be) September 1st 2025, or as soon as
possible thereafter.

A PhD position on the modeling of spin qubits is available at the
laboratory of atomistic simulation of the CEA/Interdisciplinary research
institute of Grenoble (IRIG).
The project, supervised by Dr. Yann-Michel Niquet, deals with the
modeling of spin shuttling in silicon and germanium spin qubits using
analytical and numerical techniques. The PhD is expected to start on
september/october 2025.
