The Quantum for Life Center is looking for a PhD student interested in taking part in the development for quantum algorithms for quantum chemical systems. The PhD student would be employed at the Department of Mathematics at the University of Copenhagen supervised by Professor Matthias Christandl with co-supervision by Professor Markus Reiher from ETH Zurich in Switzerland. The project would involve the development of new quantum algorithms as well as the theoretical and numerical analysis on concrete example molecules.

We are looking for a motivated postdoctoral researcher with a PhD Degree in Physics (or a related field) to join the Quantum Information and Matter Group headed by Prof. Peter P. Orth at Saarland University. This is a broad search and potential research directions include quantum algorithms for the simulation of many-body systems and their implementations on current hardware, nonequilibrium dynamics and nonlinear response of correlated quantum matter and light-control of quantum materials. The research entails both analytical and numerical work. The successful candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English or German and will be able to communicate to a wide variety of audiences. The individual must be able to work effectively with team members.
