We are looking for talented and motivated Postdocs to join our Superconducting Quantum Circuits lab (https://iqoqi.at/_groups/en/group-page-kirchmair) at the University of Innsbruck and IQOQI Innsbruck in Austria, for a project working on hardware efficient quantum error correction utilizing superconducting qubits coupled to high coherence resonators.
We are seeking a highly motivated PhD student to work on theoretical aspects related to quantum many-body physics. The research will focus in particular on:
- the investigation of non-equilibrium processes in synthetic quantum matter
- the development of protocols for novel engine cycles using non-equilibrium phase transitions
- the application of advanced numerical methods (e.g. tensor networks) to model quantum many-body engines

Reversible computation has a growing number of promising application
areas such as low power design, coding/decoding, debugging, testing and
verification, database recovery, discrete event simulation, reversible
algorithms, reversible specification formalisms, reversible programming
languages, process algebras, and the modelling of biochemical systems.
Furthermore, reversible logic provides a basis for quantum computation
with its applications, for example, in cryptography and in the
development of highly efficient algorithms. First reversible circuits
and quantum circuits have been implemented and are seen as promising
alternatives to conventional CMOS technology.

How should one design the ideal programming language for current and future quantum computers? What are appropriate concepts, abstractions, and paradigms? Is there a fundamental difference between programming small and large quantum computers? How can type systems and formal methods help ensure that quantum software works correctly by construction - even when current quantum hardware is noisy? How can quantum programs be debugged when quantum bits collapse upon inspection? And how can all this help algorithm designers analyze innovative new quantum algorithms?
If the above sounds exciting to you, then you should consider applying!
The research group Quantum Information at Ruhr University Bochum led by Michael Walter is hoping to recruit a doctoral student (m/f/d, 100%, 3 years) for the interdisciplinary BMBF project QuBRA. You will work towards a doctorate on questions such as the above (...)

The theory group at Forschungszentrum Juelich is looking for highly motivated candidates to fill a fully-funded PhD position over the next few months.
It is a fully-funded PhD position focusing on theoretical aspects of large scale quantum processors using machine learning. The projects will be supervised by Dr M.H. Ansari and may involve collaborations with leading experimental groups.
The theoretical division of Quantum Algorithms, directed by Prof. Leandro Aolita, at the Quantum Research Centre (QRC) of the Technology Innovation Institute (TII) in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, is seeking highly talented and motivated experienced researchers to fill a vacancy of lead scientist. This is an intermediate position between postdoctoral researcher and director.
