Anne McLaren Fellowships 2010

Applications are invited for these prestigious postdoctoral fellowships funded by the University and targeted at excellent women scientists and engineers, under-represented in these subjects, who wish to establish a research career in the UK . The Fellowships will commence in October 2010.

Applications are invited for this new Postdoctoral Fellowship competition, funded by the University of Nottingham . The Fellowships are targeted at excellent postdoctoral researchers in any academic area represented at the University. Fellowships are being offered to start in October 2010.

Postdoctoral Research Associate (Fixed term until 31 August 2012)
Mathematical Quantum Control
Institute of Mathematics and Physics
Grade 7: £30,594 - £35,469
Applications are invited for a postdoctoral research associate position at Aberystwyth University. The successful candidate will work on an EPSRC funded project on theoretic methods applied to quantum control, and will work with the Quantum Open Systems and Control research group at Aberystwyth.

Application deadline:

Monday, September 15, 2008

A postdoctoral research fellowship is available in the Queensland Quantum Optics Laboratory. The successful candidate will work with PhD students on the development of quantum technologies based on integrated optical microresonators. These will include quantum opto-mechanical systems (QOMS) based on radiation pressure coupling of mechanical and optical degrees of freedom, advanced single molecule biosensors, and fibre coupled integrated quantum information networks.

Application deadline:

Wednesday, July 30, 2008

This fellowship is a full-time three-year fixed-term fellowship funded under the recently established Perimeter Institute — Australia Foundations (PIAF) partnership. The Australian side involves Griffith University, the University of Queensland, and the University of Sydney. The successful applicant will be based at Griffith University in Brisbane, but will be supported to spend three months per year visiting other partners, split between Sydney and the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics in Canada.

Application deadline:

Thursday, June 5, 2008

This post, funded by the UK's EPSRC, is required to develop coherent states as a resource in quantum technology. The successful candidate will spend two years at Queen's University Belfast, working with Professor Myungshik Kim on a joint project with Professor Sir Peter Knight at Imperial College and Professor Sougato Bose at University College London.
