Cambridge Quantum is expanding its Quantum Error Correction team in its Cambridge office. As a Research Scientist, you'll work on reducing error rates in quantum states, gates, preparations, measurements, and algorithms. This includes, but is not limited to, improvements in compilation of quantum algorithms into sequences of fault-tolerant operations, the design of quantum error-correcting codes and fault-tolerant circuits, as well as advances in quantum control and device/process characterization.

Application deadline:

Thursday, March 31, 2022

The groups of Prof. Maria Chekhova at Max-Planck Institute for the Science of Light (Erlangen, Germany) and Prof. Ulrik Andersen at the Technical University of Denmark (Lyngby, Denmark) are looking for an excellent, ambitious and proactive postdoc to work on the joint project ‘Quantum-enhanced Raman spectroscopy for bioimaging applications’ (QuRaman), funded by QuantERA. In this project we will build sources of pulsed squeezed light for the future use in a quantum-enhanced Raman microscope.

Postdoc position for experimental research on sub-shot-noise interferometry

The group of Prof. Maria Chekhova at Max-Planck Institute for the Science of Light (Erlangen, Germany) is looking for an excellent, ambitious and proactive postdoc to work on the project ‘Sequential Parametric Amplification: Quantum Technology with Multimode Light’ (SPARQL), funded by QuantERA. In this project we will apply the principle of quantum SU(1,1) interferometry to expand the limits of optical metrology and spectroscopy. The position is funded for 3 years.

Application deadline:

Sunday, May 1, 2022

We offer year-long research assistantships (x2) to undergraduate or masters students who are interested in working in cutting-edge research environment and learning how to build quantum technologies. You will work alongside the team to perform day-to-day operations of the lab, carry out various experiments, and contribute to the development of key experimental apparatus. Through this, you will have the opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge about quantum circuits, integrated optics and their supporting technologies.

Dates:

Monday, June 20, 2022 to Friday, June 24, 2022

Submission deadline:

Saturday, April 30, 2022

Registration deadline:

In our Quantum Science era where fault-tolerant quantum devices are still not available but Noisy Intermediate-Scale Quantum (NISQ) devices are accessible, quantum information tools to guide their development play a fundamental role. With the foreseen increasing complexity of available NISQ devices, their classical simulations - which drove their development until now - will soon fail to keep up. There is thus an urgent need for increasingly powerful diagnostic tools that can be applied to quantum devices even in the quantum advantage regime.
